Heroics gear

I’ve been trying to write a new post regarding some of the new gear I’ve been receiving as a result of running more and more heroics but everytime I try, I get new gear and it screws up my post ever so slightly!

This happened to me again last night! I ran two heroics and got some new gear, so the draft post I had needs to be modified, yet again!

This is a filler post basically saying that I plan to recreate my gear wishlist with heroic gear as well as showcase what I’ve gotten and how I have gemmed and enchanted it!

My pally is level 70!

I finally dinged level 70 on my paladin Sunday morning! I had a lot of spell upgrades, including Blessing of Might, Rank 8 and Avenging Wrath! My pally finally has her wings! It seems like I’ll have to wait for boss fights and/or soloing elites to use them though, since I seem to blow through mob too quickly.

I purged about 70% of my addons yesterday as well. A lot of them were mostly fluff that I didn’t need. I still have the most important ones though, Bartender4, FuBar and Perl Classic.

I also got my flying mount for her as well, which is awful slow when you have the epic flyers on two other toons, even with Crusader Aura.

I’ve been running a lot of instances lately and have been amassing rep. I’m not going to bother trying to farm honor for any PvP gear since Wrath will be out on November 13th so I’ve been buying whatever reputation PvP gear I can get. The ret set is called Crusaders Scaled Battlegear. I’ve got two pieces so far, the legs (Crusader’s Scaled Legguards) and the hands (Crusader’s Scaled Gauntlets).

This pally is a lot of fun! Even with the post-3.0.2 nerfs, playing as ret is still much better than pre-3.0.2; we’re still op!

3.0.2 Paladin – spellpower or attack power?

From what I’ve read around the internet, 3.0.2 prot and ret paladins should now be stacking strength. You gain spellpower from attack power (AP). You gain AP from strength. If talented (Divine Strength, 5 talent points = +15% strength), you gain 2.3 attack power from every point of strength. Ret pally’s should have been stacking strength from prior to the patch, at least that’s what I was doing.

Holy paladins should still be stacking spellpower, but protection and retribution paladins should be stacking strength.
